We’re proud to share that Clay Walker, CEO of Caliber Healthcare Solutions, has been named to the inaugural Healthcare Staffing 100, a new recognition from Staffing Industry Analysts (SIA).

The first list of its kind

SIA, the global research and advisory firm focused on staffing and workforce solutions, created the Healthcare Staffing 100 to spotlight executives advancing this critical segment and helping organizations across the healthcare delivery ecosystem address complex workforce challenges. Honorees span nursing, physician and allied health staffing, international healthcare mobility and healthcare managed service providers (MSPs).

SIA President Ursula Williams said it plainly: “Behind every healthcare staffing placement is a patient who needs care and a clinician whose work matters.” That idea guides how Clay leads Caliber.

Listening first: 21 client visits in 2026

When SIA asked Clay about his proudest accomplishment of the past year, he pointed to time spent in the field. He has visited 21 clients so far in 2026 to better understand the challenges in their communities. Those conversations shaped Caliber’s first MSP offering, launched with one of the nation’s largest research healthcare systems.

It reflects a theme SIA noted across this year’s honorees: moving beyond simply filling vacancies toward helping health systems build stronger workforce strategies.

A healthcare partner, not just a staffing firm

Asked what impact he hopes to make on the industry, Clay was clear about the goal: “Being a healthcare partner, not just a staffing firm: improving patient outcomes, expanding access to care, giving families and facilities peace of mind by strategically closing the patient care gap.”

Leading with ownership

Clay’s leadership philosophy comes from Extreme Ownership by Jocko Willink and Leif Babin, his pick for the leadership book that has most influenced him. Its core lesson, that leaders own every outcome instead of assigning blame, guides how he supports his teams and takes responsibility for results.

The best career advice he’s received follows the same thread: don’t be afraid to show your faults. In Clay’s words, taking accountability for mistakes shows others that failure is encouraged and gives a team the confidence to take risks and do hard things.

The habit behind it all

Clay’s go-to leadership habit is running. “It clears the noise and helps me strategize,” he says. “Being the best version of me allows me to be the best version for others.”
