National Physicians Week 2024: Showcasing ‘Medicine and More’ Through the Flexibility of Locum Tenens

Last year, Caliber’s physicians delivered care to over 1.24 million patients. And so far, they've treated 48,564 patients in 2024.

These figures highlight the consistent, inspirational impact that our locum tenens physicians make in hospitals across the country. As your trusted staffing partner, we want to wish you a ‘Happy National Physicians Week!’ Thank you for serving millions of patients every year and making a daily commitment to increasing access to healthcare.

The Genesis of National Physicians Week

To amplify physician voices in the medical community, Dr. Kimberly Funches Jackson founded Physicians Working Together (PWT) in 2015. This non-profit organization is dedicated to fostering unity among doctors, advocating for collaborative healthcare, and enhancing the well-being of both physicians and their patients. PWT also awards scholarships to medical students and strives to reduce financial barriers for emerging doctors.

Just one year after its inception, PWT established National Physicians Week—an annual time of recognition from March 25-March 31—to extend the celebration of Doctors’ Day (March 30) and express deeper appreciation for our physicians. Each year, PWT sets a theme to direct messaging and spark physician-recognition ideas for hospitals and health leaders.

Medicine and More in 2024: Provider-centric, Purpose-driven

This year’s National Physicians Week theme celebrates the multifaceted goals of physicians who both excel in their medical specialty and pursue extraordinary endeavors outside of the hospital.

This theme resonates with Caliber’s mission because our defining goal is to be the most provider-centric company in the healthcare staffing industry. We’re committed to helping our physicians achieve balance through ‘more.’ More flexibility. More autonomy. More mobility. More opportunities to thrive—not just professionally, but personally, too.

For our team, this sentiment extends far beyond Doctors’ Day or National Physicians Week; it’s our ongoing commitment. Because when we continuously connect our physicians to the right locum tenens opportunities, they can have ‘more.’ Whatever that means to them.

·  For Dr. Sheikh, it means more training and new climbing gear so that she can grow stronger and conquer new peaks as a mountain climber.

·  For Dr. Kondrot, it means more opportunities to serve veterans and secure additional funding for his medical mission trips.

·  And for Dr. Pande, it means more stability to establish a life in California as a new doctor alongside his significant other and travel during their free time. (Most recently, a trip to India!)

We’re humbled and honored to help each of our physicians achieve their ‘more’ through locums—more freedom, more growth, and more opportunities to excel in every aspect of their lives.

Once more, on behalf of the entire team at Caliber Healthcare Solutions: Happy National Physicians Week! Thank you for entrusting us with the responsibility of matching you with the right locum tenens opportunities and for continuing to deliver lifesaving care across the country every single day.
